We collect information you provide directly (name, email, phone, delivery address, payment details) and information generated through your use of the Platform (order history, browsing behaviour, search queries, device information, and IP address). Sellers additionally provide NID, business registration, and farm/production details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: process and fulfil orders; communicate order status and support requests; personalise your browsing experience; send newsletters and promotional offers (only with your consent); prevent fraud and ensure platform security; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing Your Information
We share your information only with: sellers (delivery address and name, necessary for fulfilment); payment processors for secure transaction handling; logistics partners for delivery; and government authorities when required by Bangladeshi law. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences, and analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand how users interact with the Platform. You can disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings, though this may affect Platform functionality.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active and for a period thereafter as required by law. Order records are retained for a minimum of 5 years for compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) for data in transit, and encrypt sensitive data at rest. Payment information is processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways — we do not store card numbers on our servers. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights

8. Children's Privacy
RootCart is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the Platform. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
